We are looking for a Senior Manager to join our team in Madrid and help grow our power market advisory services in Iberia

We are looking for an experienced energy specialist to help lead and grow our advisory business across Spain and Portugal. This is an opportunity to become a recognised voice in the Iberian energy market, build trusted relationships with senior industry leaders, and lead high-impact work for utilities, developers, investors, lenders and other participants across the energy value chain. You will shape our Iberian market proposition, originate and lead complex advisory engagements, strengthen our market insight and modelling capabilities, and help build a high-performing team in Madrid. The role suits someone who combines deep power-market expertise with commercial judgement, senior client credibility and the ambition to grow a distinctive advisory business. If you want to be part of an entrepreneurial environment and help make a difference to our business, your opportunity is now.

What you will be doing
  • Iberian market presence: Act as a visible expert on Spanish and Portuguese power markets, covering market design, regulation, network access, balancing and ancillary services, and the commercial structures that follow from them. Represent Baringa in client forums, industry events and thought leadership.
  • Market advisory leadership: Lead the delivery of power market and commercial advisory engagements in Iberia, including power market outlook, revenue analysis and projections for renewables and batteries, Route-to-Market advice (e.g. PPA and offtake support), and transaction advise.
  • Client relationships: Build and nurture senior relationships across utilities, IPPs, developers, funds and lenders, and translate them into high-impact commercial propositions.
  • Business development: Drive the growth of our client base in the region, from building brand presence through to shaping opportunities and writing winning proposals.
  • IP and capability: Curate and develop the market models, scenarios, datasets and IP that enable us to give market leading investment and strategic advice in Iberia.
  • Team Leadership: Invest in the junior team, identify and fill capability gaps and recruitment needs, and build a high-performing Madrid team.
  • Support practice growth: Contribute to proposals, thought leadership, market engagement and the origination of new opportunities across Iberia.
  • Deliver high-quality engagements: Ensure excellence in project delivery and client management, including quality assurance, financial management and commercial oversight.
Your Skills And Experience

We are looking for experienced power market specialists focused on the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal). The ideal candidate will have experience in several of the following areas:

  • Professional experience: 8+ years' relevant professional experience in the energy sector, gained in market or commercial advisory, consulting, an energy company, a developer or IPP, a trading or analytics function, or an investor or lender. We are interested in the depth and relevance of your experience, not a single career path.
  • Deep market expertise: A fundamental understanding of power market fundamentals, market design and regulation, with strong awareness of key players, projects and drivers globally and particularly in Iberia.
  • Commercial and valuation experience: A track record advising on asset and portfolio valuation, routes to market, PPAs and offtake, and value creation across the asset life cycle for renewable, flexible and clean infrastructure assets.
  • Modelling and analytics: Comfort with fundamentals-based market modelling and revenue analysis, and the ability to challenge, interpret and communicate model outputs credibly to senior audiences, and participate in internal modelling methodology working groups.
  • Relationship building: Experience building trusted client relationships, operate effectively in client-facing environments and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
  • Skills and competencies: Experience in project management, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, business acumen, analytical capability, and excellence in people management and career development.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear recommendations on key value drivers, risks and upsides.
  • Ways of working: Flexibility and the ability to manage different priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Languages: Professional fluency in Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
Benefits
  • Generous Annual Leave Policy: We recognise everyone needs a well-deserved break. We provide our employees with 5 weeks of annual leave, fully available at the start of each year. In addition to this, we have introduced our 5-Year Recharge benefit which allows all employees an additional 2 weeks of paid leave after 5 years continuous service.
  • Flexible Working: We know that the 'ideal' work-life balance will vary from person to person and change at different stages of our working lives. To accommodate this, we have implemented a hybrid working policy and introduced more flexibility around taking unpaid leave.
  • Corporate Responsibility Days: Our world is important to us, so all our employees get 3 days every year to help social and environmental causes and increase our impact on the communities that mean the most to us.
  • Wellbeing Fund: We want to encourage all employees to take charge and prioritise their own wellbeing. We've introduced our annual People Fund to support this by offering every individual a fund to support and manage their wellbeing through an activity of their choice.
  • Profit Share Scheme: All employees participate in the Baringa Group Profit Share Scheme so everyone has a stake in the company’s success.
Diversity and Inclusion

We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We believe that creating an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging is central to our culture and that diversity is paramount to driving creativity, innovation, and value for our clients and for our people.
