Formación

• BS in relevant field required, MS preferred.
• Solid engineering experience with low voltage battery knowledge.

The role will be based in our battery production plant in Guardamar / Segura del Alicante, Spain.

Your contribution :

• This position is responsible to lead activities related to design, development, cost reduction opportunities and generic analysis of low voltage battery products to meet customers’ requirements.
• Lead a small team of application engineers.
• Manage the customer technical relationship on a global level by assuming the role of principal technical interface.
• Manage cross-functional Clarios’ technical activities on a global level to ensure timely resolution of customer’s engineering needs and concerns.
• Articulate and promote Clarios’ technology and product positioning to technical customers.
• Partner and support the CBU to understand the OE customer's technology, current challenges, product requirements and future technical trends; communicate these internally to key stakeholders and support the translation into business opportunities.

Key responsibilities / What you will do :

• Define, develop, improve, stabilize, and support low voltage battery design and components to meet customer specifications and cost reduction targets.
• Predict battery design performance and ongoing compliance also using computer modelling tools.
• Responsible for small projects and Engineering project tasks and its accomplishment regarding planning, organizing, directing, controlling activities.
• Document and present new designs and change proposals for Design Review evaluation.
• Design validation builds, testing and product documentation.
• Coordinate the product testing execution to fulfil validation plans.
• Preparation and support of risk analysis (FMEA) for new or changed designs.
• Cooperation with regional and global Clarios facilities.
• Support quality initiative to assure product performance.
• Present Serial Product modifications to the customer, documentation of OE requirements necessary to release the change.
• Support of RFIs and RFQs by providing technical information.
• Manage day-to-day general technical questions from the customer.
• Organize, lead, document and follow up on customer communication about Clarios Product line Roadmaps.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : What we look for

• BS or equivalent in chemistry, physics, engineering, or related technical field. MS preferred.
• Solid years of Engineering experience or equivalent.
• Profound understanding of low voltage battery design and function.
• Profound understanding of the fundamentals of all low voltage battery manufacturing processes.
• Broad battery knowledge across technologies.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Experience in engineering management or leadership role is preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to think analytically and to promote teamwork and cross-functional alignment.
• Fluent business English and Spanish, further languages preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
