Responsible for leading the development, implementation, management and monitoring of site Environmental Protection, Industrial Hygiene, Health, Safety, Facilities and Security programs. Ensure complete site compliance to all OSHA, RCRA, SARA Title 3, EPCRA, local, state and federal regulations. This role will potentially have EHS Analysts in the Valencia, Irvine, and Santa Rosa territories directly reporting to them.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: bachelor’s degree in environmental, safety and health science or engineering or science discipline and at least 8 years of experience in EH&S, facilities or a related field. Experience in Safety and environmental requirements (Lockout tagout, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety, Powered Industrial Trucks, Fall Prevention, Confined Space, Emergency Management, Ergonomics, Fire Prevention, IIPP, Storm & Industrial Water Management, Hazardous Material Handling, Material Handling Equipment such as Cranes and Hoists and Business Continuity Planning). Will substitute 10+ years of progressive safety experience and applicable professional certifications for the Degree requirements.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
MECHANICAL, ELECTRIC ENGINEERING SKILLS: Ability to apply mechanical engineering skills to various manufacturing operations such as machine safety and factory hazards.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Possess extensive knowledge in OSHA, accident reporting and preventative safety. Complete knowledge in Federal, State and Local Environmental regulations including all reporting requirements and employer obligations. Possess communication & interpersonal skills including strong presentation and organizational skills. Possess strong analytical & problem solving skills. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) desired.
