Position Summary: The Manager of Clinical Operations is responsible for the operational management and successful country execution of all phases of clinical trials within assigned therapeutic areas or roles, including resource allocation, adherence to timelines and budgets, compliance with SOPs, policies, HCC, and local regulatory requirements.
The manager supports the Country Head in shaping and managing the local organizational structure, ensuring its efficiency, and demonstrating effective issue management. This individual manages Local Trial Managers, Site Managers, Clinical Trial Assistants, and other GCO staff as required.
Key responsibilities include staff performance oversight, resource forecasting, deployment of the One Delivery Model, talent acquisition and development, issue resolution, organizational change leadership, expense review, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
The role also involves oversight of clinical trial execution, ensuring compliance with ICH-GCP and SOPs, managing relationships with stakeholders, developing country capabilities, site selection, and monitoring operational and quality metrics. The manager models Credo-based culture and may perform other duties as assigned.
Principal relationships include reporting to Directors or Country Head, with primary interfaces with Trial Managers, Medical Affairs, external vendors, health authorities, and ethics committees. Internal interfaces span R&D staff, departments within GCO/GD, and external vendors.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field, with at least 5 years of clinical research experience in the pharmaceutical industry, CRO, or investigational site. Must have effective communication, leadership, and knowledge of drug development, regulatory requirements, and clinical research operations. Proficiency in English, computer literacy, and strong interpersonal skills are required.
