Job Description: Remote Sites Engineer

Aurora, an established supplier of skilled manpower, is seeking a highly skilled Remote Sites Engineer to join the L2 / L3 maintenance team within the Galileo ground segment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining TTCF, ULS, and GSS stations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GNSS systems, satellite communication systems, and ground segment stations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on TTCF, ULS, and GSS remote-site equipment.
  • Ensure proper functioning of ground segment stations and resolve technical issues.
  • Utilize Linux systems (Red Hat-based, Suse) for maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Manage RPM packages for software development and deployment.
  • Work with antennas and RF subsystems as an AIVQ engineer.
  • Conduct RF measurements using spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
  • Follow laboratory testing procedures for accurate and reliable results.
  • Provide on-site technical guidance to maintenance teams and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate logistics for site visits, including tools and spare parts.
  • Collaborate with team members to support maintenance and improve system performance.
  • Maintain detailed records of activities, repairs, modifications, and updates.
  • Willingness to work in field environments, conducting testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance at Galileo Remote stations.

Qualifications

  • University degree (preferably Master) in relevant disciplines.
  • 2-5 years of professional experience, preferably in aerospace or satellite industry.
  • Background in GNSS systems and Galileo.
  • Understanding of satellite communication systems and ground stations.
  • Experience with Linux systems (Red Hat-based, Suse).
  • Knowledge of RPM package management.
  • Experience with antennas and RF subsystems as an AIVQ engineer.
  • Proficiency with RF measurement tools and laboratory testing procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Legal and Security Requirements

  • Legal right to work in Spain; only EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens are eligible.
  • Submission of passport and degree certificate; degree validated with the university.
  • Provision of a recent good conduct certificate from current residence country.

Location

The work will be performed at the DLR location in Madrid, Spain.

Contract Details

  • Competitive remuneration.
