Aurora is an established supplier of skilled manpower to its clients, and we are now seeking a highly skilled Remote Sites Engineer to join the L2 / L3 maintenance team within the Galileo ground segment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of TTCF, ULS, and GSS stations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GNSS systems, satellite communication systems, and ground segment stations.

Specific Tasks

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on TTCF, ULS, and GSS remote-site equipment.
  • Ensure proper functioning of ground segment stations and resolve technical issues.
  • Utilize Linux systems (Red Hat-based, Suse) for maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Manage RPM packages for software development and deployment.
  • Work with antennas and RF subsystems as an AIVQ engineer.
  • Conduct RF measurements using spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
  • Follow laboratory testing procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Provide on-site technical guidance to local maintenance teams and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate logistics for site visits, including tools, spare parts, and resources.
  • Collaborate with team members to support maintenance activities and improve system performance.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, system modifications, and software updates.
  • Work in field environments (Galileo Remote stations), conducting testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities on-site.
  • Hold a university degree (preferably Master’s) in relevant disciplines.
  • Have 2-5 years of professional experience in a relevant field, preferably in aerospace or satellite industry.
  • Possess a general background in GNSS systems and Galileo.
  • Understand satellite communication systems, with proven experience in ground segment stations.
  • Be experienced with Linux systems (Red Hat-based, Suse).
  • Know RPM package management for software development.
  • Have experience with antennas and RF subsystems as an AIVQ engineer.
  • Be proficient with RF measurement tools (spectrum analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope) and laboratory testing procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English.

Legal and Security Requirements

  • Applicants must be legally permitted to work in Spain without a visa; only EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens are eligible.
  • Provide a copy of passport and degree certificate; Aurora will validate the degree with the university.
  • Provide a recent official document of good conduct from the current country of residence for security clearance.

Location

The work will be performed at the newly inaugurated DLR location in Madrid, Spain, to strengthen the Remote Sites team.

Contract
