Babel Profiles is recruiting an IT Director to lead the technology function from its Madrid offices, reporting to the Managing Director and sitting on the leadership committee. The role oversees strategy, delivery and budgets for core systems across banking, insurance and mobility finance domains.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in regulated financial services technology, with strong English and Spanish, board-level negotiation skills, and a clear vision for data and AI-led

Formación

• University degree required.
• Experience in banking, insurance or mobility/financial services.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Experience leading large, multidisciplinary technology teams.
• Proven track record managing technology budgets and vendor relationships.
• Ability to operate at board level with strong negotiation skills.
• Interest in data and AI within a regulated organisation.

Responsabilidades

• Define and propose the IT strategy, standards, methodology and outsourcing criteria.
• Direct and supervise the development and implementation of core systems and applications.
• Oversee daily technology processes ensuring performance and reliability.
• Build and manage the IT Department budget covering operating costs, projects and contracts.
• Establish mechanisms to resolve operational incidents quickly and keep systems running.
• Lead analysis of internal processes and drive continuous improvement across technology functions.
• Evaluate tooling requests from stakeholders, setting priorities for senior leadership.
• Track emerging technologies and lead studies on new implementations for competitive edge.
• Coordinate teams (infrastructure, development, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, GRC, data & AI) and support their growth.
• Ensure information and service management align with regulatory standards and support audits.
