Machine Learning Manager - NLP & Large Language Models

Location: Spain (hybrid) | Full-Time | Permanent

I am supporting a rapidly expanding, well-backed AI organisation based in Europe that is seeking a Machine Learning Manager to lead strategic initiatives focused on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs).

This company creates efficient AI solutions designed for enterprise clients across industries, including finance, energy, manufacturing, and cybersecurity. Their team is diverse, collaborative, and mission-oriented, dedicated to building scalable and sustainable AI technologies.

The role offers the opportunity to take technical leadership within a growing engineering group, bridging applied research,



model development, and the delivery of impactful machine learning systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Lead and mentor a team of engineers developing practical NLP and LLM applications
- Establish technical direction for projects to ensure scalability, robustness, and alignment with client needs
- Manage full project lifecycles, including design, implementation, and risk management
- Serve as the liaison between technical teams, stakeholders, and product management
- Coordinate cross-team initiatives and contribute to overall technology strategies

Required Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 4 years experience in AI, ML, or software development
- Proven leadership experience managing ML projects and teams end-to-end
- Deep expertise in LLMs and generative AI techniques (e.g., fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, pruning)
- Proficiency with Python, Git, Docker, and modern software development workflows
- Comfortable in agile environments and cross-team collaboration




- Professional fluency in English and Spanish

Preferred Qualifications:

- PhD or advanced degree in a relevant field
- Experience with advanced model compression techniques or tensor-based methods
