The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious early-career professional to join the Corporate Development team of a highly acquisitive international software investor.

Working across the M&A lifecycle, you will help identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities, build relationships with founders and advisers, support early-stage due diligence, and contribute to the development of a high-quality acquisition pipeline. The role offers direct exposure to software M&A, senior stakeholders, and real transaction activity within a fast-paced acquisitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain target company databases and acquisition pipelines.
  • Conduct outreach to founders, CEOs, shareholders and directors of prospective acquisition targets.
  • Develop relationships with M&A advisors, brokers, corporate finance boutiques and specialist sector intermediaries.
  • Generate, qualify and nurture acquisition opportunities over time.
  • Monitor software market activity, industry trends and relevant M&A transactions.
  • Review company information and financial statements to support opportunity assessment and prioritisation.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, outreach activity and pipeline reporting.
Candidate Profile

This role is ideal for candidates with 0-2 years' experience who are commercially minded, proactive and interested in building a career within software M&A, corporate development or investing.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Proactive, driven and highly motivated.
  • Commercially curious, with a genuine interest in software businesses and acquisitions.
  • Ideally from a background in investment banking, M&A origination, corporate development, software sales, or a similar commercially focused environment.
  • Candidates with relevant internship experience or a placement year will also be considered.
  • Fluent in English. Spanish is advantageous but not required.
  • A strong communicator, confident in engaging with founders, business owners and senior stakeholders.
  • An excellent relationship builder, capable of developing opportunities over time.
  • Self-directed, hardworking and comfortable operating in a proactive outreach environment.
  • Analytical, with the ability to understand business models and review financial information.
  • Comfortable taking initiative and owning their work from day one.
