Job Details

Position overview: For the ERC-funded research project 'Adaptation to Climate Change in Developing Countries', ICREA Professor Paula Bustos seeks to hire a part-time research assistant starting in September 2025.

The research assistant will perform data analysis, statistical and census data analysis, and programming (full details below). The work will be carried out on campus at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona.

EU Horizon Europe, European Research Council Consolidator grant 'Adaptation to Climate Change in Developing Countries', 2024–2029.

Project Focus

This project studies the effects of climate change on labour and capital flows in developing countries using micro-data from Brazil. Prof. Paula Bustos (PhD Harvard) is an ICREA Research Professor at UPF, affiliated with the Barcelona School of Economics, and holds several research fellowships.

Position Details

Type of contract: Open-ended, compliant with decree RD 32/2021 of 28 December 2021. Note: This contract may be incompatible with other contracts.

Responsibilities

• Data analysis: Processing and organizing micro-datasets.
• Statistical analysis: Applying statistical methodologies.
• Programming: Adapting existing scripts and code in R, Python, Stata, or others.
• Reporting to the principal investigator.
