The role of Supply Chain Manager is a highly demanding position that requires adaptability, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading procurement and logistics operations on the ground to ensure the rapid delivery of essential food items to communities in need.

This involves overseeing all inventory and purchasing management systems, negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory, and implementing effective domestic and international logistics strategies. The Supply Chain Manager will also be responsible for building and maintaining field kitchens, including plumbing, water filtration, propane, electricity, and HVAC systems.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Responding within four hours notice to a disaster area to act as Supply Chain Manager
  • Leading and managing field teams specializing in supply chain operations
  • Designing and implementing response strategies in the field that are adaptable and robust enough to function in high-stress environments
  • Recruiting, training, and motivating diverse supply chain teams

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management, preferably in fast-paced and ever-changing environments. They will possess excellent leadership, negotiation, and diplomacy skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and make sound decisions in crisis situations.

In addition, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of cultural awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to positively engage with local communities. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in additional languages relevant to common disaster or conflict zones is highly desirable.

Key Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or 5+ years of experience in management roles
  • Ability to spend up to 70% of the time in the field
  • Must live within one hour of an international airport or be willing to relocate
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to remote and potentially hazardous locations
