This is an opportunity to kickstart your career by joining Canonical. You will be working from our Canonical London Office and will be accountable for delivering technical support to our employees and customers, as well as facilitating AV support for office conferences and events. From problem qualification to full resolution, you will own and manage your cases. When needed, you will transfer your cases to your colleagues or involve senior engineers.

This role is ideal for a Linux Engineer/Administrator passionate about Linux and Customer Success to build a career supporting Ubuntu and open source products. If you have a passion for technology and eagerness to learn, you'll enjoy working with industry-leading professionals at Canonical.

You will be responsible for providing outstanding technical support across the Desktop and Server stacks. From problem qualification to resolution, you will own and manage your cases, escalating or transferring them as needed.

Your daily tasks include providing technical expertise, effective communication, and prioritizing customer issues. You will also dedicate time to learning about new products and technologies, participating in training, team gatherings, and company events.

Location: Office Based in London, England

The role entails:

  • Investigating customer-reported issues through research and escalation
  • Resolving complex problems related to Canonical's product portfolio
  • Owning support cases to meet SLA and ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Engaging with customers via phone, tickets, and remote sessions
  • Participating in a weekend support rotation
  • Contributing to and maintaining knowledge base articles
  • Understanding Ubuntu development processes to set correct customer expectations

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent written and spoken English with strong presentation skills
  • Outstanding academic record from high school and university
  • An undergraduate degree in a technical field or relevant alternative experience
  • A track record of exceeding expectations
  • Ability to work from our London office and support office infrastructure and events
  • Providing onboarding and support during office events
  • Identifying opportunities to improve service
  • Experience with Linux troubleshooting, including logs, stack traces, and configuration editing
  • Experience with Linux integration with other environments (authentication, network file systems, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze logs and advise on next steps
  • Quick learner, adaptable, able to handle customer-facing pressure
  • Programming fundamentals in any language
  • Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for up to two weeks
  • Extensive customer support experience, with a focus on customer needs and professional communication
