Job Responsibilities :

Reports To : Senior Project Manager

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

As a Linguistic QA Tester, you will primarily proofread and edit content already localized into your native language, ensuring the correction of errors such as grammar, typos, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, political correctness, inconsistencies, and spacing issues. You may also translate content from English to your native language and check UI for functional issues.

MAIN DUTIES

The following responsibilities are not exhaustive:

• Write and report bugs and errors using internal database systems.
• Understand and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Maintain native language skills and cultural awareness.
• Communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
• Be highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to quality.
• QA various products following testing instructions and cases.
• Report defects using client-specific bug tracking tools.
• Evaluate translations within software, mobile apps, and documentation.
• Research and resolve linguistic questions as a subject matter expert.
• Follow project-specific quality standards, trademarks, style guides, and glossaries.
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate testing problems when necessary.
• Complete tasks promptly and with quality.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent experience in a related field.

Experience

• Ability to work onsite or at client locations.
• Native or fully bilingual fluency in the required language(s).
• Up-to-date knowledge of technical language in the target language.
• Strong English skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Basic knowledge of PC hardware and smartphones (iPhone or Android).

Other Skills

• Organized and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Localization, QA, translation experience, or advanced computer skills are preferred.
