We are currently recruiting a Junior Engineer with experience in rail geometric design, based in the Spain Enterprise Capabilities Office in Madrid. This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, combining in-office and remote work.

The successful candidate will join our Linear Infrastructures team, working on projects from feasibility studies to detailed designs. Our clients include private and public sector entities, with long-term Framework Agreements and Design and Build commissions for major contractors.

Our office has a proven track record in railway design across the USA, Australia, Canada, and the Middle East. You may have the opportunity to work on iconic transportation projects within a diverse, multicultural team in the Europe Enterprise Capabilities Center (Poland / Spain).

Responsibilities:

• Support and demonstrate AECOM’s culture by leading initiatives, supporting your team, and embracing innovation.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment and demonstrate growth potential and a willingness to learn.
• Support international projects in collaboration with AECOM's Home Offices.
• Contribute to small projects or parts of larger projects under supervision, with review by senior engineers.
• Perform daily tasks under the supervision of a Designer.
• Establish standards and procedures for CAD works.
• Create complex 2D and 3D drawings, including markups and CAD work.
• Prepare geometric designs for linear infrastructures.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• Fluent in French (mandatory) and English (oral and written).
• At least 1 year of experience in railway design.
• Previous experience working on Canadian projects.
• Knowledge of international standards (e.g., AASHTO, AREMA, Australian Codes, British Standards) is a plus.
• Intermediate skills in geometric design and 3D modeling using Bentley Open Roads/Open Rail Designer, PowerRail Track, or Civil3D.
• Intermediate CAD skills, preferably in AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Experience working in North America or Australia is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• US or Australian Professional Engineer license is a plus.
