A leading company in 3D animation, Able&Baker is seeking a Lighting Lead Artist for an upcoming feature film. The role involves leading a team of lighting artists, ensuring the visual quality and technical clarity of the project, and involves working remotely or on-site in Madrid.

Formación

• At least 3 years of experience as a Senior lighting artist in 3D animation productions.
• Prior experience as lead or team coordinator will be positively valued.
• Fluency in Spanish is mandatory; English is a plus.

About the role :

Able & Baker is expanding the lighting department! We are looking for a Lighting Lead with prior experience as a lighting artist and strong potential or previous experience as a junior lead . This is an opportunity to grow professionally within a solid team and take on a leadership role in an upcoming 3D animated feature film currently in development.

This position will report to the Lighting Supervisor and lead a group of lighting artists, helping ensure the visual quality, technical clarity, and delivery pace expected from the project. to deliver cinematic, emotionally charged images that elevate every frame of the project.

Responsibilities :

• Lead and support the assigned lighting team under the supervision of the department lead.
• Solve artistic and technical challenges related to shot lighting and visual consistency.
• Assist team members with lighting setups, render troubleshooting, and shot delivery.
• Review the teams work and ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain smooth communication with both the lighting team and other departments.

Requirements :

• at least 3 years of experience as a Senior lighting artist in 3D animation productions.
• Prior experience as lead or team coordinator will be positively valued.
• Solid knowledge of Maya, Arnold, and Nuke.
• Strong artistic eye and technical problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent in Spanish is mandatory. English is a plus.
• Team spirit and proactive attitude.

Remote or on site / hybrid in our Madrid Studio will be considered.
