Overview

The Mental Health Therapist is a vital member of a dynamic outpatient team, providing engaging and evidence-based psychotherapy services using a variety of interventions. The therapist may offer individual, group, couples, or family counseling, including telehealth options. This role involves conducting evaluations, diagnosing, creating treatment plans, implementing interventions, and making referrals aligned with clients' goals for a fulfilling life.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment: Assess clients' needs, strengths, and mental health status during intake. Determine DSM-5/ICD-10 diagnoses when appropriate. Develop collaborative treatment plans and provide evidence-based interventions through various therapy formats, aiming to reduce symptoms and improve quality of life. Maintain ethical conduct within licensure guidelines.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work with team members, including outpatient, outreach, and crisis teams. Refer clients to community services as needed. Represent Eyerly Ball professionally, ensuring timely communication and documentation.
  • Documentation and Administrative Functions: Accurately document according to standards within electronic health records. Participate in trainings, meetings, and supervision. Achieve a productivity standard of 65% year-to-date and engage in Peer Quality Assurance practices.
Qualifications
  • Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Preferably 1 year of outpatient clinical mental health experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Licensed in Iowa (LMSW, tLMFT, tLMHC), Illinois (LPC or LMSW), Wisconsin (CAPSW, LPC-IT, MFT-IT). May need BLS certification within six months for some sites.
  • Skills: Ability to relate professionally to diverse consumers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Basic computer proficiency.
