Job summary

Allianz Commercial in Madrid seeks an Underwriter Liability (m/f) to develop and execute the Liability strategy for the Spain market, reporting to the Regional Head of Liability for Iberia. You will lead the region in shaping risk capacity and profitability, while building strong relationships with agents and brokers.

You will drive portfolio performance, ensuring pricing discipline, and collaborate across Sales, Risk Consulting, Claims and other lines to execute cross-selling initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Law or Economics or other appropriate discipline.
• At least 3 to 5 years' proven experience in underwriting profitable Liability business for corporate clients.
• Ideally, experience in PI / D&O / Cyber Risks / Legal Expenses as well as in Multinational Clients/Programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines.
• Steer and control the portfolio at local level in conjunction with the Head of Liability to drive the achievement of financial targets.
• Proactively liaise with functional areas to review performance of end to end underwriting life cycle.
• Work closely with Sales departments, Risk Consulting, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross-selling.
• Ensure underwriting consistency and underwriting discipline and adherence to all corporate guidelines and authority levels, including Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance rules and local regulatory framework.
• Proactively support the development and implementation of new and/or modified products.
• Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including agent and broker negotiations).
• Communicate local business strategy externally.
