Madrid Headquarters or Remote in Spain

Position/Salary:

32k–€41k EUR annual salary

Hours:

Must be willing to overlap with U.S. hours
Mon - Thursday: 11am - 8pm CET
Fridays: 11am - 3pm CET

Position Overview:

We seek a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Specialist to support our US operations from Spain. You will ensure payroll and benefits are processed accurately, contributing to a positive employee experience. You will collaborate with the US People team, employees, and external vendors to support compliance and process improvement. This role is ideal for someone with a strong payroll foundation, a passion for people operations, and a growth mindset. Familiarity with US benefits and labor laws is a plus but not required; training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Payroll Administration: Onboard/offboard employees, process weekly multi-state payroll for 250-300 employees, reconcile discrepancies, manage garnishments, and liaise with vendors.
• Benefits Administration: Oversee benefits, handle open enrollment, submit contributions, communicate benefits info, and support compliance audits.
• Employee Support: Respond to payroll/benefits questions, assist new hires, escalate issues when needed.
• Data & Reporting: Maintain employee records, assist with audits, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Compliance & Policy: Ensure compliance with wage/hour laws, process I-9 and E-Verify, support internal controls, and participate in special projects.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years in payroll/benefits administration, preferably multi-state
• Experience with payroll systems (e.g., Gusto, ADP, Paylocity) and benefits platforms
• Attention to detail and discretion
• Excellent English communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of wage/hour laws and benefits compliance
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• HR certification or coursework (a plus)
