Formación

• Conocimientos en acuerdos de comercio de energía es una ventaja.

• Asesorar sobre riesgos legales y gestionar disputas.

Descripción del puesto

- Provide legal services and advice on legal issues related primarily to gas, power, emissions (and derivatives) trading, origination, energy management, and market access for renewables and thermal technologies in Iberia and related corporate activities (governance, procurement).

- Occasionally provide legal assistance in other areas such as new commodities, dry bulk trading, IT, or other key business areas as they evolve.

- Draft and advise on agreements and documentation related to gas, power, emissions, and environmental certificates business.

More generally:

• Negotiation: Assist internal clients in commercial and contractual negotiations with third parties.
• Risk: Advise on legal risks and help minimize their impact.
• Disputes: Assist in managing legal disputes and advise on risks and outcomes (litigation, arbitration, mediation).
• Laws and regulations: Monitor and advise on applicable laws and regulatory changes in Iberia and member states.
• Regulatory compliance: Advise on energy regulations in Iberia.
• Industry understanding: Understand the energy and renewable sectors to provide relevant legal services.
• Communication: Prepare and deliver presentations on legal/regulatory topics to management and business units.
• Industry engagement: Attend industry groups to assess industry changes.
• External counsel: Assist in instructing external counsel and monitor legal costs.

Qualifications:

• At least 5-10 years post-qualification experience as a licensed solicitor or equivalent European qualification, preferably in Spain.
• Experience with energy trading agreements is an advantage.
• Knowledge of another European jurisdiction, especially Portugal, is an advantage.
• Proficient in English and Spanish legal drafting; fluency in both languages required.
• Effective communication skills across all levels of staff.
• Knowledge of French or other European languages is a plus.
