Legal Counsel – Commercial Contracts (Pharma Sector)

At Melza Recruiting, we are seeking a Legal Counsel with expertise in international commercial contracts to join our legal team, which plays a pivotal role in strategic decision-making within a rapidly growing pharmaceutical company.

This role is ideal for those who enjoy collaborating closely with business teams, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, and working within cross-functional and global teams.

About the Role

You will serve as the legal advisor to the Sales Team, focusing on negotiating and drafting commercial agreements with international partners across EU, US, MENA, and APAC regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of complex international contracts, such as license & supply agreements, tech transfer, co-development deals, assignment agreements, consulting, tenders, and other service contracts.
• Provide day-to-day legal guidance to senior leadership on commercial and operational legal matters.
• Collaborate with internal teams in IP, Regulatory, R&D, and Operations to offer legal insights on cross-functional projects.
• Support supply chain teams on legal issues related to distribution, logistics, and compliance.
• Identify legal risks proactively and assist in implementing risk mitigation strategies.
• Lead and conduct internal legal training sessions to enhance contractual and legal awareness across the organization.

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years of experience in private practice or in-house legal roles.
• Strong background in contract law / law of obligations, preferably with exposure to the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
• Ability to work independently in a hands-on, business-facing role.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
