Overview

Melza Recruiting is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel with a strong focus on data protection and digital law on behalf of our client, a global digital and data-driven organization. The role is based in Barcelona and will be part of the Legal & Compliance team. The successful candidate will act as the go-to advisor on privacy and compliance matters, while also supporting commercial law topics and bridging the legal and technology worlds in an international environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the implementation and maintenance of compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide expert legal advice on privacy, data protection, and digital law.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to define standards and ensure proper implementation of controls.
  • Support on compliance and conduct queries across projects.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts and policy documentation.
Requirements
  • Law degree.
  • 4+ years of experience in data protection compliance, either in-house or at a law firm.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a quality-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Previous experience in the tech sector is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams, meeting demanding deadlines.
