Today, there's more data and users outside the enterprise than inside, causing the network perimeter as we know it to dissolve. We realized a new perimeter was needed, one that is built in the cloud and follows and protects data wherever it goes, so we started Netskope to redefine Cloud, Network and Data Security.

Since 2012, we have built the market-leading cloud security company and an award-winning culture powered by hundreds of employees spread across offices in Santa Clara, St. Louis, Bangalore, London, Melbourne, Taipei, and Tokyo. Our core values are openness, honesty, and transparency, and we purposely developed our open desk layouts and large meeting spaces to support and promote partnerships, collaboration, and teamwork. From catered lunches and office celebrations to employee recognition events (pre and hopefully post-Covid) and social professional groups such as the Awesome Women of Netskope (AWON), we strive to keep work fun, supportive and interactive.

About the position

Netskope is seeking a commercial attorney located in Europe with 5 or more years of experience supporting customer and channel sales transactions for technology companies, preferably SaaS / Cloud service and / or security providers. Candidates should be able to demonstrate substantial experience in reviewing, negotiating, and drafting a broad range of contracts and documents for sales, channel, vendor, licensing, and other commercial business contexts, as well as a comprehensive awareness of potential issues and solutions in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be enthusiastic about technology and comfortable in a sales-driven environment supporting transactions focused in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, but may also involve support of other regions. Experience as an attorney in both law firm and in-house roles is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and reviewing agreements including customer / sales agreements, network services agreements, reseller / distributor agreements, master services agreements, software licenses, and related sales / vendor documents.
  • Assistance with compliance in various areas such as data privacy, open source, FCPA, and export.
  • Work with Deals Desk to structure customer transactions for policy compliance and revenue recognition.
  • Support Finance, Products, Engineering, Sales, and other business groups as needed with any legal requests that may arise.

Skills & Attributes

  • Qualified lawyer within an EU jurisdiction.
  • Fluent in English; additional fluency in French and / or German is helpful.
  • Problem-solving in quickly moving situations.
  • Negotiating contracts with customers, suppliers, and technology partners.
  • Drafting documents using a commercial, client-focused style.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Cooperating effectively as part of a team, sharing information and responsibility.
  • Maintaining a controlled and flexible approach under pressure.
  • Understanding of revenue recognition principles.
  • Understanding of tender and procurement processes and channel-led transactions.
  • Experience in data privacy and technology laws.
  • Providing responsive, professional service that effectively helps internal clients to resolve issues.
  • Commercially astute and desire to stay current on key legal, regulatory, and business developments.
