Teaching and Academic Responsibilities
  1. Teaching assigned academic modules according to the curriculum.
  2. Administering proctoring and grading all students' assignments and exam papers for assigned classes.
  3. Amending, designing, or developing new curricula for modules if required.
  4. Updating syllabi as needed.
  5. Supervising dissertations per academic year, if required.
  6. Providing consultation and mentoring to students.
  7. Creating assignment briefs and exam papers.
  8. Providing feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence.
  9. Teaching students study skills relevant to programs and exam strategies.
  10. Offering private instruction to individuals or small groups to improve academic performance and prepare for exams, if needed.
  11. Assessing students' progress throughout tutoring sessions.
  12. Scheduling tutoring appointments with students.
  13. Monitoring student performance and assisting in academic environments such as classrooms, laboratories, or computing centers.
  14. Organizing the tutoring environment to promote productivity and learning.
  15. Participating in training and development to improve tutoring practices or learn new techniques.
  16. Communicating effectively with students and conveying passion for learning.
  17. Maintaining confidential records of assessments, progress, feedback, and performance.
  18. Preparing lesson plans or learning modules based on program needs and goals.
  19. Designing creative teaching materials to maximize student experience.
  20. Developing content, both written and recorded, as directed by the Chief Academic Officer.
  21. Researching or recommending textbooks, software, equipment, or other learning materials to enhance tutoring.
  22. Communicating students' progress through reports, in person, phone, email, or teleconferencing.
  23. Identifying, developing, or implementing intervention strategies, tutoring plans, or individual education plans (IEPs).
  24. Performing routine tasks such as maintaining information files and processing teaching-related paperwork.
  25. Providing feedback to students on their progress.
  26. Promoting the school's reputation proactively.
  27. Supporting students in developing their assignments.
  28. Participating in school activities as required by the Chief Academic Officer.
Your Profile

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES

  • PhD or PhD candidate
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level in higher education
  • Proficient in Windows OS, MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Microsoft Teams
  • Scientific publications in a related discipline
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of educational platforms (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard)
  • Working knowledge of timetabling software
  • Solid understanding of study regulations and rules
