Amentum seeks a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (DRC) for a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role oversees operation and preventative maintenance of water treatment facilities and supports safe, compliant plant performance on a remote overseas site.

The incumbent will collect samples, adjust chemistry, maintain records, and mentor junior staff while adhering to safety policies and regulatory requirements in a challenging environment.

Formación

• Requires five years of experience in operations and maintenance of facultative stabilization ponds or aerated treatment ponds.
• Valid wastewater grade II or III operator license in the US or equivalent; or five years’ experience plus relevant degree and training.
• Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Chemical/Industrial/Environmental Engineering or Chemistry can substitute the license with related coursework and experience.
• Basic wastewater treatment plant design, operations, maintenance/calibration of plant controls, sampling and reporting requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Operates and performs preventative maintenance on water treatment plant equipment.
• Adjusts chemical dosing based on water quality and maintains operation records.
• Collects water samples and performs chlorine, turbidity and coliform analyses.
• Conducts bacteria testing using Colilert System.
• Supports maintenance staff in identifying and repairing major mechanical problems.
• Ensures safety policies and procedures are followed; Mentors less experienced staff.
