Job Description:
The Lead Solution Architect role in the Domain is responsible for the architecture landscape and oversees key technical and design decisions through to implementation. You will work closely with Heads of Product, Heads of Engineering, and others, sharing responsibility for the overall business outcomes of your area. You act as your domain’s spokesperson in senior technical engagements with other domains.
About the Job
- As a Lead Solution Architect, you will create technology and organizational transformation activities and define the technology direction. You will champion policies, standards, and practices, helping to define and execute the technology strategy for TUI and each domain, considering compliance and business strategies.
- In collaboration with senior technology leaders and architects, you will shape a vision and strategies regarding IT architecture to translate business opportunities and customer expectations into innovative IT solutions.
- You will identify and implement improvements in architectural practices within an agile environment, continuously innovating IT processes to adapt to market trends.
- You will maintain a strong understanding of the bigger picture, staying informed of the latest innovations, technologies, and practices, using these insights to shape emergent architecture.
- You will ensure the architecture capacity, capabilities, and culture support sustainable delivery of business outcomes with the right quality from the outset.
- You will help teams improve their expertise across the Domain, promoting technical excellence, ownership, and self-organization, balancing tactical solutions with long-term sustainability.
- You will actively participate in global Architecture communities, enjoy learning and teaching, and work directly with teams rather than remaining in an ivory tower.
About You
- Experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, algorithms, data structures, design patterns, service-oriented and event-driven architecture, multi-threading, Micro-Services, caching, and distributed systems.
- Proven track record in designing and optimizing architecture blueprints for continuous development and innovation.
- Working knowledge of frontend technologies and API-driven ecosystems, including API design and development.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced virtual environment, coordinating with global/remote teams.
- Proficiency in translating business visions into technical strategies and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
- Open-minded, inquisitive, and a lifelong learner.
- Enjoys solving complex problems and driving innovation through technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, comfortable working across organizational and market boundaries, managing senior stakeholders, and aligning differing opinions.
- Fluency in English and Spanish; additional languages are a plus.
