Lead Software Engineer, Backend (Python / Django)

Are you a Python / Django wizard who thrives in a hands-on environment but also enjoys helping others grow ? Do you love building robust, scalable backend systems, from architecture to production, and mentoring others to do the same? If so, read on.

We're now looking for an experienced Lead Backend Engineer to lead our backend efforts — someone ambitious to grow, who codes daily, leads by example, and helps scale both tech and people.

What You’ll Do

Be 100% hands-on : Build, maintain, and scale backend systems in Python / Django .

Design architecture : Own backend architecture decisions, collaborating closely with our infra and security teams.

Manage infrastructure : Work comfortably with AWS , especially RDS, ECS, and Kafka / MSK.

Lead & mentor : Guide a growing team of backend engineers through mentorship, technical leadership, and hiring.

Own your scope : Take full responsibility for projects — from design to deployment — with autonomy and accountability.

What We’re Looking For

You’ve been the go-to backend expert for 8+ years , leading projects, owning architecture, and shipping code in scale-up environments

Proven experience as Lead / Staff / Principal level

Deep expertise in Python and Django — you’ve built and shipped impactful products

Comfortable with AWS and containerized infrastructure

Experience in team leadership — you’ve mentored others and led by example

Ownership mindset, proactive attitude, and strong problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills in English

Bonus : experience or interest in AI development platforms like Cursor
