What you'll do

1. Drive the design, development, and enhancement of core features of our observability platform, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
2. Act as a subject matter expert, guiding and mentoring a team of talented software engineers to achieve technical excellence and deliver high-quality code.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient systems that meet our growing customer demands.
4. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, researching and experimenting with innovative solutions to improve our platform.
5. Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, promoting best practices and collaboration.
6. Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimize systems, and maintain platform stability and availability.
7. Foster a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and innovation within the engineering team, sharing knowledge and supporting professional growth.

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in software development, engineering, or a related technical field.
• 4+ years leading a team of at least 5 engineers.
• 8+ years as a software engineer with experience in Java and/or Go, with a strong CS background and quick learning aptitude.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale software systems with modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills to guide engineering teams towards technical excellence and high-quality delivery.
• Strong understanding of scalable distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Passion for exploring new technologies and solving complex problems, staying updated with industry trends.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, GCP, serverless, Docker, Kubernetes.

Bonus points

• Contributions to open source projects.
• Experience with GraphQL schemas.
• Building and maintaining high throughput pipelines and distributed systems.
• Experience with observability products, especially in SaaS vendor space.
