Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Exploration Geophysicist to join their exploration team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will lead seismic interpretation projects, interpret data to identify prospects, and guide exploration strategies across challenging basins.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree or PhD in Geophysics or related Earth Science, 10+ years in oil and gas, and strong skills with Petrel, OpendTect, and HampsonRussell.

Formación

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Physics, or related Earth Science field.
• Minimum of 10 years in exploration geophysics within Oil & Gas.
• Expertise in seismic data processing workflows and advanced interpretation techniques.
• Proficiency with Petrel, OpendTect, HampsonRussell.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation (2D/3D) to identify geological structures and stratigraphic traps.
• Develop and refine regional geological and geophysical models to define exploration plays and assess prospectivity.
• Integrate geophysical data with geological, petrophysical, and engineering data to create comprehensive subsurface interpretations.
• Utilize advanced seismic interpretation software to delineate potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
• Collaborate with geologists and reservoir engineers to support prospect maturation and drilling decisions.
• Prepare detailed geophysical reports, presentations, and prospect assessments for management and joint venture partners.
