As INDG’s software branch, Grip simplifies content production by combining CGI, rule-based generative AI, and post-production into an easy-to-use content generator that transforms master ad creatives into infinite variations for clients that include The Coca-Cola Company, L'Oréal, LVMH and Beiersdorf.

As our new Head of Pipeline & Rendering Engineering, you will manage the pipeline team, work closely with our R&D Team, Artists, and Software Development Team. You will define, architect, and develop the core of our production and automation pipeline, enabling Grip to create and deliver product images at unprecedented scale and quality.

You will lead graphics development projects, mentor colleagues, and provide technical and automated solutions for artists and the ecosystem behind Grip. Collaborating with Development and Operations teams, you'll ensure the pipeline is optimized for maximum efficiency.

Automation is your passion, and you're eager to develop code. Your goal is to create an automated, state-of-the-art pipeline for stunning visual results, with a deep understanding of Computer Graphics, Rendering, Modeling, Compositing, Workflows, and other aspects of 3D content production at scale. You aim to combine your knowledge with automation driven by code, both inside and outside of 3D applications.

What will you be doing?

  • Collaborate with our CTO and teams to define, develop, and operate the next version of our rendering technology, including creative tooling, pipeline, and end-user software.
  • Guide pipeline technology choices and define the future architecture of our platform.
  • Work with Grip development and technical teams to identify shared approaches.
  • Partner with artists to develop necessary tools and automation.
  • Build, test, and deploy pipeline updates regularly.
  • Document and train artists on pipeline usage, and implement enhancements directly.

Desired qualifications:

  • 7+ years in Computer Graphics and Science (preferably with an MSc/PhD) or 3+ years industry experience in a similar role.
  • Proven leadership and coaching experience.
  • Knowledge of practical OpenUSD application.
  • Experience with industry-standard PBR rendering and interchange formats.
  • Basic software engineering and architecture skills.
  • Experience in VFX or animation industries.
  • Experience developing tools/plugins for Maya, 3DS Max, Houdini, Nuke.
  • Experience with V-Ray, Cycles, Arnold.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, TypeScript, MaxScript, MEL, Blink.
  • Experience with revision control and coding standards.
  • Deep understanding of industry-standard PBR definitions.
  • Experience with Windows/Linux pipelines.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of VFX Reference Platform.
  • Color management expertise (ACES, sRGB, color spaces).
  • Experience with Houdini, Katana, Unreal, Omniverse.
