Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Madrid is seeking a Project Lead Engineer to oversee HVDC projects and tenders. You will coordinate global project teams, drive engineering activities and manage technical documentation while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree, have 5+ years in a lead role, and are fluent in English and Spanish. Travel up to 30% is required, with opportunities to shape the future of energy in Europe.

Qualifications

Academic degree in Engineering (Electrical or similar).
Minimum 5 years in a leading/project lead role.
Experience with HVDC technology is a plus.
Power industry experience is required.
Fluent in English and Spanish; other languages advantageous.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary technical liaison for customers and stakeholders.
Coordinate global project teams across engineering, planning, and risk assessments.
Lead development of solutions for complex HVDC projects and tenders.
Drive completion of engineering activities on projects within scope and budget.
Provide technical support for testing, installation and commissioning.
Prepare project documents within budget, scope and contract.
Ensure adherence to safety standards and manage project risks.
Maintain technical quality in contracts, documents and deliveries.
