Job summary

Bain & Company, Inc. is seeking an AI Engineer in the AIS team to design, build, and ship generative AI systems for enterprise clients. You will join cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and product managers to move solutions from prototype to production deployment.

The role requires 3–5+ years in software/ML engineering, strong communication, and a collaborative mindset. In‑person work 3 days a week at client locations or Bain offices in Madrid is expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in software engineering, ML engineering, or applied AI roles with hands-on building responsibilities.
• Demonstrated experience shipping generative AI features or systems end-to-end, from prototyping through production.
• Clear communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical collaborators.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of end-to-end generative AI systems.
• Build multi-component AI pipelines including RAG, fine-tuning, embeddings, and hybrid retrieval strategies.
• Implement reasoning, tool use, and orchestration across AI workflows.
• Build and maintain APIs, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployments.
• Design evaluation frameworks for hallucination rate, relevance, and latency.
