Job summary

Bain & Company in Madrid is seeking a Manager, AI Engineering in AIS to lead the technical delivery of generative AI transformations, bridging individual contribution and team leadership to move solutions from prototype to real adoption.

You will take ownership of workstreams, guide more junior engineers, and interface with cross-functional partners and client stakeholders to ensure technical work lands with measurable enterprise impact.

Qualifications

• Minimum years of experience in software/ML roles with hands-on building.
• Experience shipping generative AI features end-to-end with ownership of workstreams.
• Demonstrated leadership to guide peers and drive technical decisions.
• Strong ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and deployment of generative AI systems and multi-agent workflows.
• Architect and build AI pipelines including RAG, fine-tuning, embedding generation, and hybrid strategies.
• Implement reasoning, tool use, function calling, and orchestration across AI workflows.
• Lead delivery of agentic systems with scalable tool integration and memory architecture.
• Drive workstreams from research to production deployments with quality and pace.
• Build and maintain APIs, microservices, and cloud deployments with observability.
• Establish GenAIOps processes for automated testing and latency monitoring.
• Balance performance, safety, and cost with HITL and ethics alignment.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, data science, ethics, and infra teams.
