Skydance Animation is seeking an Environment Surfacing Lead to steer a team of surfacing artists, defining look, textures and materials for environments and props. You will brief the team, review outputs, and ensure deadlines and quality align with the show's artistic direction.

You will collaborate with Production Designer, Supervisor, and Lighting to deliver high-end textures—stylized and photorealistic—using USD, Substance Painter/Designer, Houdini, RenderMan, and RizomUV.

Formación

• 6+ years in VFX or animation industries.
• 1+ years experience in animation industry.
• Expertise in shading, texturing and asset optimization.
• Deep knowledge of creating UVs.
• Experience with Mari, Maya, Substance Designer, Arnold Render. High English level.
• Spanish desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Lead surfacing team; brief and review artist work.
• Become the expert on surfacing, texturing, and asset optimization.
• Collaborate with Director/Supervisor to elevate visual quality.
• Evaluate team work for quality standards and artistic direction.
• Create textures from photos, materials, or procedural sources.
• Paint stylized textures following show look; develop procedural materials.
• Produce stylized and photorealistic textures.
• Translate Production Designer's vision into the movie look.
• Stay current with techniques and tools for production efficiency.
• Provide tech support and troubleshooting; assist Lighting/FX teams.
• Mentor team members for artistic and professional growth.
• Follow Supervisor guidance; liaise with input/output departments.
• Propose solutions to technical problems; manage time and priorities.
• Demonstrate clear communication and empathy.
