Job summary

VistaPrint is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead the generative, intent-based, and agentic evolution of our personalization platform. You will bridge traditional data science with LLM-based reasoning and work with another Principal Data Scientist to accelerate our research agenda.

This remote Spain role requires strong Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and SQL skills, plus the ability to translate complex concepts for cross-functional leaders and deliver impactful, scalable AI solutions.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience building and deploying ML models and DL systems for high-scale applications.
• Hands-on experience with Agentic AI and AI orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, Strands).
• Experience building MCP servers to bridge data/ML systems with LLM orchestrators in production.
• Deep expertise in Deep Learning, LLMs, and Reinforcement Learning for real-time personalization.
• Proven ability to build propensity models and customer segmentation from large-scale data.
• Strong programming: Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, SQL.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management to influence non-technical leaders.

Responsibilities

• Bridge DS practices with modern LLM application layers and agentic reasoning.
• Lead the evolution of recommendations into Generative AI and agentic experiences.
• Design and build the Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to expose models as modular tools for AI agents.
• Develop an intent layer translating real-time signals into structured intents for the fmX pipeline.
• Build advanced propensity models and dynamic customer segmentation for business impact.
• Influence product and engineering leadership to adopt a model-driven, agent-first approach.
