A global animation studio is seeking a Layout Supervisor to guide a team of layout artists in translating the director's vision into cinematic images. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of professional experience in VFX or animations, with at least 4 years in a leadership role. Strong creative and technical skills, along with advanced English proficiency, are essential for this position.

Position: Layout Supervisor

As a Layout Supervisor, you will supervise a team of layout artists to bring the cinematic vision of the Director to the screen. You will partner with the Director of Photography, Production Designer, Editor, and VFX Supervisor to ensure the direction and technical specifications are met on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Translate the director's vision into images that convey the intended sensations.
• Execute directions from the Director and DP based on story panels and previs.
• Utilize different visual languages to handle various scene types, such as action or intimate scenes.
• Propose innovative storytelling methods beyond established visuals.
• Maintain high-level editing skills to manage the rhythm of sequences.
• Stay updated on current artistic methodologies, technology trends, and tools relevant to production and the company.
• Act as the primary contact for the department, managing workflows and schedules with Production Supervisors.
• Collaborate with other departments and communicate fluidly across teams.
• Ensure team morale and uphold ethical standards, fostering a positive working environment.
• Guide and supervise team quality, working closely with production to meet deadlines.
• Mentor emerging talent within the studio.
• Partner with HR to source and recruit top industry talent.
• Represent the company as an ambassador, maintaining industry relationships and enhancing Skydance Animation’s reputation.

Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in VFX or animation industries.
• At least 4 years of experience in a leadership role within the animation industry.
• Strong creative and technical background with proven leadership in directing production teams.
• Experience with Real-Time engines is a significant advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
