This includes identifying suitable sites, negotiating land leases and purchases, and securing the necessary rights for project development.

Conduct detailed assessments of potential sites, considering factors such as land use, environmental impact, access to infrastructure, proximity to grid connections, and local regulations. Work closely with technical teams to evaluate the feasibility of each site for wind, solar, hydrogen, and battery projects.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with local governments, regulatory bodies, landowners, and community groups. Represent the company in public consultations, hearings, and meetings with relevant stakeholders, ensuring positive engagement and addressing concerns effectively.

Build and manage relationships with key institutional stakeholders, including government entities, energy regulators, and public authorities. Advocate for the company’s interests in regulatory frameworks and public policies related to renewable energy development.

Collaborate closely with internal development teams, including project managers, legal advisors, and engineers, to ensure that land acquisition aligns with broader business strategy and project timelines.

Lead negotiations for land agreements, ensuring favorable terms for the company while addressing landowner and community concerns. Oversee contract drafting and ensure proper documentation and legal compliance.

Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of experience in land acquisition within the renewable energy sector (wind, solar, hydrogen, and/or battery projects). Experience in stakeholder engagement and working with local governments or regulatory authorities is highly desirable.

  • Strong negotiation skills with experience securing land agreements under complex conditions. Ability to balance stakeholder interests while safeguarding company objectives.
  • Proven ability to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including local communities, landowners, government officials, and regulatory bodies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are key.
  • Solid knowledge of the renewable energy regulatory environment in Spain and Portugal, including policy developments, permitting requirements, and institutional frameworks impacting land acquisition.
