Laboratory Technician Position at Nanobots Therapeutics

Nanobots Therapeutics is a young, innovative biotech start-up developing a disruptive drug delivery platform with a focus on oncology. Located at Barcelona Science Park (PCB), we are a dynamic, fast-paced team passionate about advancing science and healthcare solutions.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized laboratory technician to support critical projects within our organization. The role involves driving research in biomedical unmet needs, primarily in oncology. The ideal candidate thrives in a start-up environment and has a strong background in nanomedicine within the chemistry or life sciences sector.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Synthesis of micro- and nanoparticles (inorganic and organic) and supporting synthesis efforts within the team.
• Supporting sample preparation and characterization using microscopy techniques such as SEM, TEM, fluorescence microscopy, and confocal microscopy.
• Organizing and maintaining lab equipment, proposing improvements, and managing reservation calendars.
• Managing lab spaces and computers, ordering reagents and equipment, and onboarding new team members.
• Introducing lab facilities and rules to new members, training users, and ensuring safety protocols.
• Acting as a contact between maintenance, security, administrative, and other PCB departments.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in chemistry, nanoscience and nanotechnology, nanomaterials, biomedical engineering, or similar.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Lab Technician.
• Knowledge in synthesis of nanoparticles (inorganic or organic) and characterization techniques (DLS, Z-potential, UV-vis, fluorescence, FTIR, NMR, HPLC, GPC).

• Proactivity, integrity, critical and analytical thinking.
• Problem-solving and organizational skills in multidisciplinary, multicultural teams.
• High level of English proficiency.

Advantageous skills include knowledge of cell culture techniques, experience with in vivo cancer models, electronic microscopy (SEM, TEM), and experience in international, multicultural labs.
