Laboratory Technician (Clinical biochemistry, drug deliveryand therapy)

VHIR offers a vacant position for a laboratory technician with experience in vitro experiments and laboratory management needs.

The candidates will be hired within a national project (CPP2022-009780) to participate in providing all in vivo validation (safety, biodistribution and efficacy) of the proposed therapy. In addition, the candidate will participate in the general routine techniques and procedures in the lab. Our group runs the Unit 20 on in vivo experimental research, also known as Functional Validation & Preclinical Research (FVPR).

FVPR / U20 is a service platform offering customized assays for the production and functional validation of diagnostic or therapeutic compounds. FVPR / U20 is also part of the ICTS-Nanbiosis, a reference infrastructure in the development of biomaterials and nanomedicines. FVPR / U20 operates under the ISO9001:2015 quality management system.

Education and qualifications:

Required:

• Title of higher technician (FPII / CFGS) in the field of bioscience (i.e. Laboratory Diagnostics, etc.).

Desired:

• Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, or English.

Experience and knowledge:

Required:

• At least 2 years of experience in laboratory work.
• Lab management skills (analytical, organizational and time management).
• Good computer skills, especially in MS Office.

Desired:

• Experience in cell culture, tissue processing, molecular biology techniques (ELISA, WB, qPCR, etc.) and cellular biology (cell cytometry).

Experience in Quality Management Systems, specifically with ISO9001 standards.

We are looking for a person who has a proven hands-on attitude, flexible and adaptable. Additionally, the following personal skills are desirable:

• Proactivity (ability to work independently when necessary).
• Well-organized and responsible person at work.

Main responsibilities and duties:

• Support to in vitro experimentation, from basic cell culturing to molecular biology.
• Support to in vivo experimentation, processing of mouse tissue samples, from plasma and serum extraction to tissue homogenization.
• Data registry.
• Execution of basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, ELISA, WB, etc.).
• Administrative and laboratory management tasks.

Labour conditions:

• Full-time position (40 h / week).
• Incorporation: Immediate.
• Length of the contract: Up to the end of the project.
• Gross annual salary: 19.624,50€. Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale).
• Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
