• Oversee daily tasks of the laboratory to ensure functioning.
• Coordinate installation and qualification of new instruments.
• Oversee maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory equipment. Keep logs for instrument usage and servicing.
• Coordinate scheduling and use of shared equipment and facilities.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage orders for reagents, consumables, and equipment.
• Train and support new staff, students, and visiting researchers in lab techniques and safety protocols, enforcing good laboratory practices (GLP)
• Technical support in cell culture and general molecular biology techniques
• Maintain updated laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety documentation.
• Maintain detailed records of protocols, inventories, and experimental results (e.g., lab notebooks)
• Adaptability and willingness to support team needs

Requirements for candidates :

• Strong scientific background in relevant field (e.g., biology, biomedicine, biotechnology or bioengineering). Certificate in Animal experimentation will be a plus.
• Experience in cell culture and immunocytochemical techniques, including conventional as well as confocal microscopy.
• Excellent organizational skills for tracking resources, protocols, schedules.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of biosafety and chemical safety protocols.
• Experience maintaining SOPs and documentation systems.
• High level of English and Minimum Elementary level of Catalan.

• 6 months Full time open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration with the possibility of being extended upon positive evaluation

The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia, IBEC is an interdisciplinary research center focused on Bioengineering and Nanomedicine based in Barcelona.
