CRAG is seeking a Researcher to investigate the impact of phosphorus nutrition on disease resistance in rice. This full-time temporary position offers the opportunity to engage in significant analysis within the realm of plant biology. Ideal candidates will hold a degree in Biology and possess practical skills in molecular biology techniques, driving forward research objectives in a well-known scientific institution.

Formación

• The candidate must hold a degree in Biology.
• Experience with plant molecular biology and phytopathological techniques required.
• Previous experience in plant nutrition and plant-microbe interactions preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Characterize the impact of phosphorus nutrition on disease resistance in rice.

Offer Description About CRAG :

CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. It is a consortium of CSIC, IRTA, UAB, and UB, located at the UAB Campus with 200 members from around the world.

Responsibilities :

The candidate will characterize the impact of phosphorus nutrition on disease resistance in rice, including :

• Analysis of Pi content in rice tissues
• Phenotypical and physiological responses to Pi treatment and pathogen infection
• Gene expression analysis
• Metagenomic analysis of rice tissues and soil samples

This work is part of the project titled "PROYECTOS DE GENERACIÓN DE CONOCIMIENTO" under the Spanish State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2021-2023, code PID2021-128825OB-I00.

Educational Requirements :

The candidate must hold a degree in Biology. A Master in Plant Biology, Genomics, and Biotechnology is also considered.

Skills :

Experience with plant molecular biology and phytopathological techniques.

Specific Requirements :

Previous experience in plant nutrition and plant-microbe interactions.
