The Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) seeks a Lab Technician to analyze phosphorus nutrition's impact on rice disease resistance. Formación

• Degree in Biology required; Master's in relevant fields is advantageous.
• Familiarity with plant molecular biology and phytopathology techniques.

About CRAG

CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. It is established as a consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). Located at the UAB Campus, CRAG hosts approximately 200 members from around the world.

Research Focus

CRAG's research programs utilize genomic technologies and large genetic and genomic data sets to study plant and farm animal sciences. The selected candidate will analyze the impact of phosphorus nutrition on disease resistance in rice, including:

1. Analysis of Pi content in rice tissues
2. Phenotypic and physiological responses of rice to Pi treatment and pathogen infection
3. Gene expression analysis
4. Metagenomic analysis of rice tissues and soil samples

This work is part of the project titled "PROYECTOS DE GENERACIÓN DE CONOCIMIENTO" under the Spanish State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation (2021-2023), code PID2021-128825OB-I00.

Requirements

• Educational: Degree in Biology; a Master’s in Plant Biology, Genomics, or Biotechnology is advantageous.
• Skills: Familiarity with plant molecular biology and phytopathological techniques.
• Experience: Prior experience in plant nutrition and plant-microbe interactions.

Working Conditions

• Contract Duration: 1 month
• Hours per week: Full-time
