Job summary

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of relevant experience in application maintenance and production support in an L2 or higher capacity.
• Advanced proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and working with enterprise databases (Oracle, Sybase, Snowflake).
• Hands-on experience in Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong fundamentals in OOP with Python, Java, or other core scripting languages.
• Hands-on experience using AI models or GenAI/LLM tools to aid log analysis and automation.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration during high-pressure outages.
• Practical knowledge of AWS ecosystems and cloud-native platforms.
• Familiarity with microservices and distributed computing tools (Kubernetes, Spark, Airflow).
• Domain knowledge in Market Risk concepts and financial regulatory frameworks could be advantageous.

Role Overview

• Senior L2 Application Support Engineer

We are seeking a Senior L2 Application Support Engineer with 6–9 years of experience to oversee high-tier production environment support. This role bridges production support and core development, requiring deep database expertise, scripting skills, and modern AI/cloud awareness. You will maintain cutting-edge platforms, drive incident resolution, and collaborate closely with global cross-functional teams.

• Incident Ownership: Drive end-to-end incident management, perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production issues, and execute definitive corrective actions.
• L2 Support & Analysis: Actively provide tier-2 support for application issues, delivering exhaustive technical and structural analysis.
• Code Fixes & Testing: Collaborate with AppDev/L3 teams to propose fixes, perform minor code adjustments, and execute rigorous testing prior to deployment.
• Platform Operations: Support product servers and clients built on advanced platforms, ensuring strict uptime and reliability.
• Continuous Delivery: Contribute to CI/CD workflows and continually focus on enhancing application performance and operational efficiency.
• Global Collaboration: Provide actionable technical feedback to Core Development teams and collaborate across a global workspace during critical outages (crisis management).

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 6 to 9 years of relevant experience in application maintenance and production support in an L2 or higher capacity.
• Databases: Advanced proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and working with enterprise databases (e.g., Oracle, Sybase, or Snowflake).
• Operating Systems: Hands‑on experience navigating and troubleshooting in Unix/Linux environments.
• Programming & Scripting: Strong fundamentals in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) with practical skills in Python, Java, or other core scripting languages.
• Support Innovation: Hands‑on experience utilizing AI models or GenAI/LLM tools to accelerate log analysis, debugging, and support automation.
• Soft Skills: Outstanding communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with a proven ability to lead and maintain composure during high‑pressure crisis scenarios.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Practical knowledge or baseline hands‑on experience with AWS ecosystems.
• Cloud Migration Awareness: Familiarity with microservices and distributed computing framework tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow) as platforms transition to cloud-native environments.
• Domain Expertise: Familiarity with Market Risk concepts (e.g., Value-at-Risk [VaR], Stress Testing) and financial regulatory frameworks (e.g., CCAR, Basel III, FRTB).
• Certifications: An active AWS Certification is highly advantageous.
