Job summary

Ilkari is seeking a practical Platform Engineer to own and evolve Kubernetes and Developer support platforms in Málaga, Spain. You will automate with Helm, Terraform, Ansible, and Python, following a GitOps approach, and maintain healthy core services with proactive monitoring.

You’ll join cross‑functional teams, participate in on‑call rotations, and help scale systems that are secure by default, well‑documented, and easy to operate. This is a hands‑on, collaborative role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Platform/DevOps/SRE or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Hands-on Kubernetes administration (RKE2 preferred) with Helm, Istio, and CD tooling (ArgoCD preferred).
• Experience with IaC (Terraform) and config management (Ansible).
• Proficient in observability stacks (Datadog/Prometheus/Grafana/Elastic Stack).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD preferred).
• Experience with OpenStack or major public clouds (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong Linux administration and scripting (Python/Bash).
• On-call/incident response and change management in live environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate and evolve Kubernetes platforms on private clouds for performance, reliability, and security.
• Automate with Terraform, Ansible, and Python using a GitOps approach.
• Improve observability with alerts and dashboards; ensure meaningful alerts reach correct teams.
• Handle day-to-day operations: patching, upgrades, maintenance, backups, provisioning.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Security and Operations to deliver reusable solutions.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines with security scanning and templating.
• Perform testing and QA via automation and health checks.
• Participate in incident response, risk assessments, and change management.
• Ensure resiliency, high availability, and proper documentation.
