Here at Americold Europe we are recruiting for a Key Accounts Director.

The Key Accounts Director - Europe is responsible for driving significant revenue growth by fostering and expanding relationships with strategic key accounts across Europe. This role ensures the long-term success and profitability of these accounts, enhances customer satisfaction, optimizes service delivery, and reinforces Americold's industry leadership.

The director oversees key account relationships to maximize satisfaction and achieve revenue growth, acting as the primary point of contact to ensure smooth communication and lasting partnerships with decision-makers. The role identifies cross-selling opportunities across Europe and Americold's global network, driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Managing service delivery, financials, cost control, and quality assurance to ensure efficient operations.
  2. Developing effective Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to align expectations and deliverables.
  3. Staying informed on logistics and transport trends, particularly in the food sector, to add value to client relationships.
  4. Leading pricing negotiations and rate reviews, balancing customer needs with Americold’s goals.
  5. Managing contract renewals and maximizing new business opportunities with key accounts.
  6. Analyzing business performance data to identify and resolve issues to enhance profitability and customer satisfaction.
  7. Collaborating with finance teams to ensure accurate billing and proactively addressing liabilities.
  8. Implementing continuous improvement initiatives and adhering to internal processes to ensure alignment with key account expectations.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Extensive experience managing key accounts, with a focus on revenue growth and customer relationship management.
  2. Extensive knowledge of the Warehouse, Distribution, Transport, Food, and Supply Chain sectors.
  3. Knowledge of the cold storage industry and its unique operational demands.
  4. Proven experience managing complex B2B relationships and delivering value through long-term partnerships.
  5. Previous experience in account management or sales, with a demonstrated track record of success.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with key stakeholders.
  2. Ability to synthesize and communicate financial and market performance data, using it to develop and adjust account strategies.
  3. Proven ability to coach, influence, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver on account goals.
  4. A problem-solving mindset with a responsive, action-oriented approach to resolving customer issues.
  5. Commercially focused, customer service-driven, and results-oriented.
  6. Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels within key accounts.
  7. Strong understanding of financial statements and the ability to interpret financial reports.
  8. Proficiency in reading, understanding, and interpreting legal contracts.
