SLS Barcelona is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join the team under the Executive Chef. You will manage a busy kitchen, ensure top quality, and help lead a talented kitchen team in a luxurious five-star hotel setting on the Barcelona waterfront.

You will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences, maintain food hygiene, and stay abreast of industry trends while supporting a dynamic, creative kitchen culture.

Formación

• 4+ years’ experience as a Chef de Partie in a busy kitchen.
• Proven track record leading large kitchen teams.
• Natural at leading and managing others, leading by example.
• Passion for food and learning in a hardworking team.

Job Description

What you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced Junior Sous Chef to join the team at SLS Barcelona.

Under the guidance of the Executive Chef, you will:

• Bring delicious flavors to our guests’ tables by managing our busy kitchen.
• Create, execute, and produce top-notch food with a constant eye on the highest quality standards, presentation, and flavor, with an eye on industry trends and neighborhood demands.
• Ensure statutory compliance in all food and drink related areas.
• You will keep well-organized storerooms and inventories that allow for a smooth-running kitchen.
• Nurture and develop the talent of the kitchen team, creating an environment that brings out the best in them and where they can be themselves.
• Make sure things are running without hitch, orders and deliveries are coming and going as needed, our service is smooth and our food hygiene standards are sky-high.
• Work with our Executive Chef on ideas and techniques that make our kitchen a creative, ever-changing environment where we’re always looking to come up with new, delicious combinations of tastes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience as a Chef de Partie in a busy, bustling environment with freshness and provenance of ingredients as a key priority.
• Proven track record in large kitchen teams.
• A natural at leading and managing others, you lead by example and create an environment where your team can be their best self.
• Passion for food is a given, a love for our particular flavors a definite advantage.
• You value learning and development and are looking to join a hard-working team, aiming to make the best food out there.
• You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience.
