Netquest is seeking a Junior Site Reliability Engineer in Barcelona to work with senior engineers in maintaining existing applications and developing next-generation applications. This role includes platform maintenance and participation in on-call rotations.

Ideal candidates should have a solid foundation in Linux, Docker, and basic coding skills, with an understanding of cloud technologies. Netquest offers a hybrid working model with flexible hours and various perks including private health insurance.

Formación

• Operational knowledge of Linux and Docker experience.

Descripción del empleo

Your mission

As a Junior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be working in a stable team with principal and senior engineers providing support to our internal software engineering teams, maintaining existing applications and platforms while contributing to the next-generation application development and participating in weekly and easy on-call rotations.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform maintenance and development: Maintain existing applications and platforms while contributing to the development of next-generation applications.
• Cloud design and optimization: Contribute to designing new platforms and improving existing ones running on Kubernetes or AWS services.
• Automation and security enhancement: Focus on automation and boosting the infrastructure's security posture, applying shift-left principles where possible.
• On-call rotations and incident response: Participate in weekly on-call rotations, respond to alerts, and conduct post-mortems in the event of incidents.

Your profile

• Operational knowledge of Linux and experience with Docker;
• Basic Python, Go or Rust coding skills;
• Basic understanding of distributed systems architectures, cloud technologies and CI/CD pipelines;
• Understanding of IT Security topics such as Penetration Testing, XSS, SQLi;
• Exposition to monitoring, log aggregation and alerting tools like Elastic, Fluentd, Prometheus;
• Willingness to learn new stuff every day.

Bonus points if you’re not that “junior” and:

• Are expert, proficient in any of the previous topics;
• Have production experience with AWS, Kubernetes and or Terraform;
• Are fluent in modern day architecture paradigms like microservices and serverless;
• Understand the benefits of an immutable infrastructure and enjoy enabling self-service deployments through continuous delivery pipelines;
• Have been on-call for an internet exposed, production environment.
• English B2 or higer
