Descripción del empleo

The Junior Scientist will be responsible for executing all activities related to the quality control of aromatic phases. This includes developing analytical methods, maintaining GCMS (Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer) and other analytical instruments, and mapping raw material quality through sensory analysis. Precision and structured work are essential for this role. Comprehensive onboarding training will be provided by a senior scientist.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Quality Control : Conduct analytical quality control of aromatic phases, focusing on aroma and sensory analysis.
  • GCMS Analysis : Design, plan, evaluate, and enhance aroma analysis using GCMS with minimal guidance. Investigate new marker compounds to improve raw material assessment.
  • Lab Support : Assist with sampling activities in the ND Lab and maintain GCMS equipment, including troubleshooting.
  • Data Management : Prepare samples, analyze data, interpret results, and accurately record experimental data and test results in specified formats (written and / or electronic). Manage and update raw material databases.
  • Documentation : Write and manage product specifications and related documentation.
  • Supervision : Oversee the performance and evaluation of routine aroma and sensory analysis.
  • Collaboration : Work with various teams within Prodalim to support the aroma business and become a technical expert on Prodalim’s aroma portfolio.
  • Regulatory and Scientific Knowledge : Stay informed about regulatory guidelines and scientific literature to draw accurate conclusions.
  • Team Participation : Actively participate in project meetings and contribute to team goals while achieving individual objectives.

Required Knowledge and Skills :

  • Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree in food chemistry, food technology, chemistry, or equivalent experience.
  • Lab Experience : At least 3 years of experience working in a lab, preferably in the aroma or food industry, with expertise in operating GCMS equipment
  • Sensory and Analytical Skills : Strong sensory and analytical skills.
  • Technical Proficiency : Proficient in MS Office Suite and database systems.
  • Autonomy and Pressure Management : Ability to work independently and handle pressure effectively.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Language Proficiency : High level of English proficiency is a must!
