Job Description :

Lead the development, compliance, training, problem solving, best practices and general technical support in the area of Sanitation across all European Schreiber plants and Joint ventures outside Europe. Work with Operations, Plant Leaders, Engineering, Enterprise Quality and Food Safety, chemical suppliers, and contractors to ensure equipment, processes and the plant environment is suitably designed, maintained, and effectively cleaned for food safety. The position requires a good amount of field presence and knowledge / willingness to engage with materials in plants.

Role & Responsibilities :

  • Support development and implementation of sanitation QSPs (quality system procedure) documents and assist in the development of plant SSOPs, CIP Neptune and sanitation audit documentation.
  • Participate in individual Sanitation Programs and group Sanitation Essentials training to plant sanitarians and other partners.
  • Work closely with Engineering and equipment vendors to ensure that new or modified equipment meets sanitary design and regulatory requirements prior to purchase and installation. For new equipment start-ups provide support with the Neptune validation process and SSOP definition.
  • Review and analyze data from the Sanitation audit, pathogen environmental monitoring program, pre-op inspections, MSS site audits, food safety audits (internal, third party, customers, and Regulatory), customer complaints, and utilize that data to respond to trends and take corrective actions.
  • Proactively utilize process Key Performance Indicators (KPI) pre-op (EQMS) and MSS metrics to prevent problems that could affect product quality and safety. Investigate sanitation issues, which are resulting in product contamination, reduced shelf-life, or customer complaints or rejection of products. Assist in the identification of root cause and corrective actions.
  • Work closely with corporate account managers of sanitation chemical vendors to maximize technical expertise, provide full technical support and to drive optimization projects in terms of cost and time.
  • Participate in internal sanitation audits separately or as a part of Food safety internal audit using EQMS database and work with appropriate partners to address and resolve deficiencies.
  • Support implementation of PEM, construction plan, high care proposes and prioritize Capex projects and microbiology indicator product / pre-op PEM call lead, food safety and Zone 1 training support.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Engineering, Microbiology or related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Food Plant Manufacturing (Maintenance, Production or Quality)
  • Mid-level leadership skills – both direct and indirect, good written and oral communication skills
  • Sanitation technical knowledge
  • Cleaning / sanitizing chemicals associated with COP / CIP
  • Sanitary design of food processing equipment
  • Mid-level understanding in microbiology and food science
  • Proficient audit skills
  • Organized and proficient at prioritizing
  • Experience using process excellence tools preferred.
  • Availability to travel up to 50% (on annual basis)
