Job summary

Sécheron Hasler Group in Madrid is seeking a Junior R&D Power Electronics Engineer to design and industrialize high-power converters and to contribute to innovative railway and renewable energy projects. You will model converters, specify components, and support testing, with a focus on quality and compliance.

Fluency in English and Spanish and a proactive mindset are valued for cross-functional teamwork and daily collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Power Electronics or related field.
Knowledge of IGBT-based VSC and LCC is a plus.
Experience with MATLAB/SIMULINK and PSIM.
Fluent in English and Spanish; good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design and industrialize AC/DC, DC-DC and DC/AC converters in 1–10MW, 500–1500Vdc ranges.
Model Voltage Source and Line Commutated Converters.
Specify components (IGBT, cooling, magnetics); harmonics, filters and PF.
Verify compliance with specifications and standards.
Coordinate protections, validation and testing.
Prepare converter testing documentation.
Analyze customer specifications.
Prepare offers and cost calculations.
Provide technical leadership in projects and support PM.
