The role of a Junior Marketing Analyst at Canonical

Since 2004, Canonical has provided open source solutions for developers, supporting innovations like cloud computing, machine learning, robotics, and blockchain. Our marketing team is at the forefront of innovation, driving growth and engagement through various strategies. We are looking for a marketing data analyst to support our growth hacking efforts.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology and marketing, with a preference for environments emphasizing ownership, collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement. You should enjoy problem-solving, hands-on work, experimentation, measurement, and automation.

The Marketing team at Canonical aims to drive business outcomes and expand our market reach through digital campaigns, lifecycle management, events, partnerships, and community development. If you are motivated by growth, customer satisfaction, and sales, we want to hear from you.

This role reports to the Growth Engineering Manager and is based remotely in the EMEA region.

What your day will look like
  • Utilize advanced data analytics to enhance product adoption and market penetration
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis to generate insights and business outcomes
  • Design and run experiments, create visualizations, and analyze target audiences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data ecosystems
  • Develop and maintain data dashboards for self-service access across teams
What we are looking for in you
  • Background in data science, mathematics, engineering, or related fields
  • Knowledge of statistics, data science, programming (Python, JavaScript), and databases (SQL)
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Looker Studio, Tableau, or Apache Superset
  • Ability to translate business questions into research objectives
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Resilience and willingness to challenge the status quo
